My first impact from the image was sure. A closer seem when I received the article confirmed that on the larger knife part, the threshold of the knife is sitting on metal rods which can be lined in rubber. I ordered 2 in accordance with Amazons dimentions. What I bought used to be a knife drawer, that holds 14 knives. It requires a 17" drawer depth, 9" wide and 3" high. The 2 knife hangers, is no longer going to match in the drawer as planned. This does not detract from the standard of the knife clinger. But, please note the scale, what Amazon is describing just isn't this design version. The 29.99 is a great value for this item.

The raised slots are plenty broad to accomodate vastr deal withs from an assortment of knives from more than a few models. Some of the other knife blocks models have narrower slots for the raised part, however this one has a variety of room for all of my knives, together with my Chicago Cutlery knives. The knife block matchs well in my drawer when full. The block seems to be lots longer than my longest knives.
