4.4 Out Of 5 Stars (11 Customer Reviews)Reviews for Kyocera Kyotop Damascus Pakka Handle 6.0-Inch Chef Knife (Kitchen) I received this knife about 4 months ago and were slowly placing it via it is tempos.
The knife has a just right balance and once I use it, it really feels like a natural extension of my hand.
It just isn't an awfully heavy knife however it's facet is indubitably first price. During the closing 4 months I've put it thru all of its tempos. It moves quickly via with reference to everything I've tried.
For instance, I used to be recently howeverchering a chicken. The knife glided quickly in the direction of the meat. I failed to understand it unless I began to put the items away; it also glided effortlessly through the ends of the hen bones and made very skinny clean slices of the bones as neatly.
I've also learned that I can't chop with this knife on my versatile slicing boards. The knife is very fast on this surface; the simplest downside is that it lowers during the boards.
This is surely the sharpest knife in my drawer and it is the main knife I attain for every time I must do any knife work within the kitchen.
Reviews for Kyocera Kyotop Damascus Pakka Handle 6.0-Inch Chef Knife (Kitchen) "Almost" as a end result of I do want a paring knife or a bread knife every now and then. I even have a nice set of Henckels knives, but they basically only get used when anyone is helping me in the kitchen and I'm already the use of the Kyocera for one thing else.
This is no lengthyer exactly the same knife as I have, but it occupies the same spot in the Kyocera product lineup (I have the discontinued Ming Tsai Signature Series KC-200), and it is technically very similar: black, scorching isostatic pressed tungsten-carbide blade with a picket deal with. Mine just has a rather different deal with shape and absences the "damascus" look.
Anyway, I offered my Kyocera kitchen knife about 7 or eight years ago, I've used it closely and as my major knife ever since then, and I have never needed to sharpen it. I must qualify by way of bringing up that I am careful in how I use it. I don't hack at bones with it, or twist or pry anything else, or cut on anything else but a wooden cutting board. But with correct care, you should easily get a lifetime of use out of it. It has acquired a few detectible nicks within the blade, that are too small to look however which you can feel when you run your finger nail alongside the brink. I do not fret about that too much, considering the fact that that has in reality better its capacity to slice tomatoes, and hasn't now noticibly degraded performance for every other duties. Kyocera will sharpen the blade at no cost if I need to pay to ship the knife to them, but I actually haven't achieved it just as a consequence of I do not want to part with the knife for the 2 weeks it will spend in transit, for what would essentially be cosmetic upkeep.
The dyed-black wooden deal with has pale reasonably from use to a striated brown and gray, which I suppose looks nice; it provides the knife character. I also love how whilst you use the knife outdoor, and the sun hits the blade at just the right kind perspective, the sides glow a sort of turquoise-blue colour. It appears kind of magical. Anyway, I love the knife. Of the thousands of bucks price of equipment in my kitchen, this knife is probably the most cherished possession.
Reviews for Kyocera Kyotop Damascus Pakka Handle 6.0-Inch Chef Knife (Kitchen) Kyocera has created a knife in which to match all different knives. This is a superb knife and as mentioned in the different overviews care fors an effective facet for months on end. I used mine for many years and did send it back to Kyocera for sharpening (and nick removal). Their provider is outstanding and simply adds to the good expertise with any of their kitchen knives.
